Conveyancing Assistant
* Annual Salary: £23,500 - £26,500
* Location: Worthing
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a diligent and highly organised Conveyancing Assistant to join our residential property team. This role is ideal for someone with an exceptional eye for detail and a proactive approach to supporting the smooth running of conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion, including playing a key role in client onboarding and compliance processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing new client onboarding including ID verification, AML checks, and source of funds/source of wealth enquiries in line with regulatory requirements.
* Drafting and preparing standard letters and conveyancing documentation (e.g., contracts, completion statements, SDLT returns, AP1s).
* Ordering office copies and searches, drafting and submitting Land Registry applications.
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, lenders, and other third parties.
* Maintaining accurate, up-to-date files and records using our case management system.
* Ensuring all documentation is carefully reviewed and accurately completed.
* Supporting the fee earner with case progression and administrative tasks to ensure smooth and timely completions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Meticulous attention to detail – accuracy is absolutely essential in this role.
* Proven experience in residential conveyancing.
* Confident with AML and KYC procedures, including interpreting ID documents, verifying proof of address, and assessing source of funds.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills, able to manage timescales.
* Professional written and verbal communication skills, with a reassuring and client-friendly manner.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and conveyancing case management systems.
* Familiarity with Land Registry submissions and SDLT processes.
* Ability to remain calm, methodical, and focused under pressure.
