An exciting opportunity has arisen for experience social workers/ team manager to join the child protection manager team. We are looking for a self-motivated professional to join our supportive team. You must be a flexible, creative individual who to is committed to improving the protection of children, by developing outcomes- focussed multi-agency child protection plans, and who understands and embraces Derby’s practice framework.
In order to apply for this post, you must be Social Work qualified and be registered with Social Work England having the following attributes and skills;
Experience
• Five years’ experience in children’s social work (fieldwork), including child protection work
• LADO experiences desirable
• Relevant supervision of staff or students
• Chairing meetings
• Work with colleagues across agencies
Skills and Knowledge
• Chairing skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to engage service users (adults, young people and children) in their meeting process
• Ability to work constructively with other agencies
• Detailed knowledge of child protection legislation, guidance and procedures
• Organisational skills
• IT skills
Personal Qualities
• Ability to organise workload/work on own initiative
• Ability to constructively challenge practice
• Robust yet sensitive and diplomatic
Equalities
• An understanding and commitment to the Council’s Equalities Policy
• An understanding of the principles of participation
This role also carries various quality assurance functions in relation to the departmental and partnership practice. You will be joining a supportive and experience team, have a full and planned induction and enjoy opportunities for joint working and professional development. You will be supported in your own development by regular supervision and performance conversations.
