Hours: 40 hours per week – flexible working arrangements available
Working Pattern: Day shift, Monday to Friday
Reporting To: Production Manager

Role Overview
Our Client are seeking an experienced Production Controller within Manufacturing Sector to join our operations team based in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a strong manufacturing background to take ownership of production planning and scheduling in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and schedule production orders based on customer demand, stock levels, and available capacity.
* Monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to address delays or material shortages.
* Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure raw materials and components are available when required.
* Track production output, efficiency, and lead times, reporting variances to management.
* Ensure production meets quality standards and customer specifications at all times.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency.
* Communicate daily priorities clearly to supervisors and production teams.
Key Performance Indicators
* On‑Time In‑Full (OTIF) delivery performance – minimum 95%
* Production schedule adherence.
* Material availability and stock accuracy.
* Manufacturing efficiency and throughput – factory efficiency minimum 85%.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong production planning and scheduling skills.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes including metal and joinery fabrication, painting and assembly.
* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
* Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across departments.
* High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
* Comfortable using ERP systems.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and good general IT skills.
Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production environment – shelving, shopfitting, or retail equipment preferred.
* Previous experience in a production control, planning, or manufacturing coordination role.
* Knowledge or qualification in lean methodologies (Lean / Six Sigma) desirable.
* Fluent English – written and spoken.
