Job DescriptionThe Employment Support Service is a team providing employability support to people with disabilities, health problems and other significant barriers who face challenges in identifying, securing and sustaining employment.\n \nWorking in a hybrid style, mostly based at Employment Support Service, you will work part time, 22.5 hours per week.\n \nIf you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Gary Smith on 01382 436376 or email gary.smith@dundeecity.gov.ukRequirementsYou will be educated to HNC level or any other relevant qualification which provides evidence of academic achievement to or above SCQF Level 7, or demonstration of equivalent relevant experience.ResponsibilitiesYou will assess the needs of individuals with disabilities, health problems and other significant barriers to employment and to assist such clients identify, secure and maintain appropriate employment or prepare and train to participate in appropriate employment.\n \nYou will contribute to a seamless approach in dealing with clients and other functions of the Employment Support Service to deliver an effective and efficient service.The IndividualYou will provide a professional support service to a client group, be able to demonstrate experience of self-directed working, and of working effectively in a team.\n \nYou will also have organisational and time management skills as well as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).\n \nYou will have an outgoing, friendly personality, be patient, have an adaptable disposition and be flexible in your approach with people.\n \nThis post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
