OCU Hornbillis an established Process Control Instrumentation and Electricalservices company based in South Wales with a wide and diverseclient base throughout the UK and overseas. Typical markets are OilGas Chemicals Metals and Utilities.
As anApprentice Electrical Engineer you will work under the guidance ofexperienced engineers to gain practical experience and theoreticalknowledge in the field of electrical engineering. Thisapprenticeship programme aims to provide you with the skillsnecessary to become a competent and qualified electricalengineer.
Duties andResponsibilities:
* Assisting with Installation andMaintenance: Work alongside senior engineers toassist with the installation repair and maintenance of electricalsystems and equipment.
* Troubleshooting andProblemSolving: Learn to identify and troubleshootelectrical faults and issues implementing solutions undersupervision.
* Reading andInterpreting Technical Drawings: Develop the abilityto read and understand technical drawings schematics and wiringdiagrams to aid in installation and repair tasks.
* Testing and Inspection:Participate in testing and inspection procedures to ensurecompliance with safety regulations and standards.
* Learning Electrical Principles andRegulations: Study electrical principles regulationsand standards relevant to the industry to develop a solidunderstanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
* Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of work undertaken including any repairsinspections or installations. Report findings to senior engineersas required.
* Health andSafety: Always adhere to health and safety protocolsensuring a safe working environment for yourself andothers.
* Continuous Learning andDevelopment: Actively participate in trainingsessions workshops and other learning opportunities provided aspart of the apprenticeshipprogramme.
Skills andExperience required:
* Motivated and keen tolearn.

* Excellent communication and timemanagement skills.
* Ability to work wellindividually and as part of a team.
* Can followinstructions and work under pressure.
* HaveElectrical experience currently training or have gainedqualifications(Desirable).
