OCU Group are currently looking for a Plant & Transport Controller to join our growing team at our Nottingham Site! As a Plant and Transport Controller, you will be responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and utilisation of Utilities/construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee the management of the company's fleet of construction plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment. - Oversee the plant assets going on and off hire for the site/business, report any faults and assist the main P&T team. - Monitor the utilisation of plant machinery and transportation vehicles to optimize efficiency and productivity. - Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and inspection procedures for plant machinery and transportation vehicles. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards for the operation of plant machinery and transportation vehicles. - Monitor and control costs associated with plant and transportation operations, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and insurance. - Prepare reports and documentation related to plant and transportation activities, including equipment usage, maintenance logs, safety incidents, and compliance records. Skills and Experience: - Previous experience in plant and transport management within the utilities industry. - Strong technical knowledge of construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles. - Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices. - Ability to multitask, prioritise, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and fleet management software. - Valid driver's license and relevant certifications (e.g., CPCS, CPC) may be required. - Be able to fit and remove vehicle tracking systems (training will be provided) Company Background: OCU leads the way in end-to-end infrastructure engineering in the utilities, digital, and energy markets, specialising in safely and efficiently delivering complex client requirements.
