Estimating Manager / Estimator
Location: Stirling
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimating Manager / Estimator to join a well-established and respected housebuilder based in Stirling.
Reporting to the Land Director, you will play a key role in the early stages of residential developments, supporting land acquisition, cost planning and project viability from initial bid through to commencement.
The Role
You will be responsible for the preparation and management of detailed cost information to support land bids and project delivery, including:
Maintaining and updating cost plan templates and cost libraries
Preparing land viability assessments for land bids
Producing abnormal cost assessments based on engineering designs and site information
Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations
Assisting with negotiations and agreement of abnormal costs with clients and agents
Updating viabilities through to commencement appraisal
Supporting design development and value engineering exercises
Preparing tender analysis for groundworks and specialist trades
Compiling commencement budgets and highlighting key risks and assumptions
Managing the handover of budgets to the commercial team
Supporting the preparation of land bid documentation, Heads of Terms and Missives
About You
You will be an experienced estimating or surveying professional with a strong background in residential development.
Key skills and experience include:
A relevant qualification (RICS, Quantity Surveying degree, or HNC/HND preferred)
Strong understanding of engineering and technical drawings
Proven experience within the housebuilding sector
Excellent relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
High level of computer literacy (MS Office essential)
Methodical, organised and detail-focused approach
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience using Bluebeam and housebuilding systems is advantageous
