Role
Lady Lumley’s Academy is appointing a Head of Department for Technology on a full‑time, permanent basis starting September 2026.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Technology department, including Food and Design Technology, as part of the middle leadership team.
* Inspire and support teachers and students across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
* Develop and improve curriculum delivery, raising attainment and standards of teaching and learning.
* Coaching and mentoring colleagues, fostering a collaborative culture.
* Play a key role in the academy’s improvement journey and transformation of educational outcomes.
Qualifications
* Experienced teacher with a proven track record across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
* Experience in Food and Design Technology with evidence of raising attainment in these subjects.
* Demonstrated leadership and development skills, with emotional intelligence and resilience.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities, able to work with and inspire colleagues.
Curriculum
Our Key Stage 3 programme prepares students for GCSE, fostering essential life skills and a love of learning. We follow the AQA specification for GCSE Design and Technology and Food Preparation and Nutrition. At Post‑16 we deliver the Level 3 Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition from Eduqas.
