CYP Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP/CYPWP)

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for the role of Education Mental Health Practitioner/Band 5 in the East Cheshire Mental Health Support Team.
In this role you will work directly with schools, colleges and other educational settings, providing assessment, training, consultation, and evidence‑based interventions for children, young people, and their families.
Main duties of the job
• Conduct individual and group assessments and interventions under close clinical supervision.
• Deliver Low‑Intensity CBT interventions in 1:1 and group formats.
• Participate in regular case‑management and clinical supervision.
• Contribute to the evaluation of initiatives to maintain the service’s effectiveness, ethical standards, and safety.
• Build positive working relationships with schools and partner agencies.
Qualifications
* Qualified Post Graduate Certificate or higher as part of the CYP‑IAPT programme (e.g., EMHP, CYPWP).
* Professional registration with a recognised national body (BPS, BABCP) within 6 months of qualification.
* Undergraduate degree in psychology or another health‑related discipline.
* Evidence of continuing professional development within the mental‑health arena.
Knowledge and Expertise
* Knowledge of child psychology and development.
* Understanding of anxiety, depression, and associated presentations.
* Awareness of parenting and behaviour‑management interventions.
* Knowledge of multi‑systemic issues affecting children (home, school, community).
* Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
* Knowledge of evidence‑based psychological and systemic therapies applicable to this role.
Experience
* Experience safeguarding vulnerable people.
* Experience working in multi‑agency settings.
* Experience in a mental‑health and/or CYP setting.
* Experience with routine outcome monitoring.
Payments & Benefits
£31,049 to £37,796 per annum pro‑rata, subject to the NHS pay scale.
