Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing creative production business for a Production Director to lead its end-to-end fabrication and workshop operations.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for converting commercial briefs into fully planned, build-ready projects. You will oversee project management, technical drafting, materials control and workshop fabrication, ensuring complex scenic builds are delivered on time, on budget and to exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Review incoming projects from Sales, assessing feasibility, scope, budgets and delivery timelines
Approve jobs into production and create the master production schedule
Break projects into structured workshop tasks, setting build order and production priorities
Lead and develop Project Managers, Technical Draftspeople, Fabrication Management and Materials Control
Ensure accurate technical aloudsvg drawings, job packs and documentation are produced for every build
Plan and balance workloads across the full production department
Oversee all workshop output including carpentry, scenic fabrication, CNC, foam, machining and finishing
Approve build methodologies and resolve complex construction challenges
Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency and workshop safety
Ensure the workshop is organised, well-equipped and capable of scaling production
Review and approve technical drawings, CNC files and cutting lists
Ensure fabrication solutions align with creative intent while maximising efficiency
Work closely with Operations to meet installation schedules and delivery deadlines
Provide installation teams with clear drawings, handling instructions and build notes
Maintain strong communication with Design, Warehouse and Commercial teams
Own the production budget across labour, materials and tooling
Approve material purchasing and track actual spend versus estimates
Identify efficiencies and reduce overspend through improved planning and workflows
About You
You are an experienced production and fabrication leader with deep knowledge of scenic build, workshop management and technical planning. You bring structure to creative environments and lead teams with confidence, clarity and calm.
Required Experience & Skills
Senior leadership experience within scenic fabrication, event build, theatre construction or themed environments
Proven ability to manage workshop teams and project managers atನ್ನಡ scale
Strong technical capability,195 including reading totalsin and approving construction drawings and build methods
Exceptional organisational, scheduling and problem-solving skills
A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style
High attention to detail and uncompromising quality standards
