What does the role involve?
Within this role, you will be required to make decisions on credit applications that have been referred for further review and assess the customers' affordability to ensure we are a responsible lender at all times. You will adhere to internal and external controls to maintain brand integrity as well as ensure all customers are treated fairly, regulatory requirements are met, and wherever possible referrals are dealt with at the first point of contact.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement to attend the Leeds office twice a week. The daytime shift patterns are between 8:00 - 18:00 and late shifts are between 11:00 - 20:00. Weekend work will also be required.
Some of your key duties will include:
* Resolving referred cases efficiently and accurately in line with processes, procedures, and mandate levels
* Providing expert advice and support to stakeholders across the business unit reducing risk of financial loss
* Delivering and demonstrating fair customer outcomes
* Collaborating with the Financial Crime and Retail Helpline Teams
What are we looking for?
You are a natural communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders across the business. You have a key eye for detail and like to ensure a high level of accuracy. You're passionate about being organised with excellent time keeping skills and someone who thrives from working in a collaborative space. Experience within underwriting is advantageous but not essential for this role.
