Position Overview
As a Hire Desk Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the hire of construction equipment, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the hire desk, providing leadership to a team of hire desk controllers, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and lead a team of hire desk controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
* Oversee the scheduling and allocation of construction equipment to various projects, optimizing resource utilization.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment availability, hire rates, and contracts.
* Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service to clients.
* Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and maintenance, to ensure timely equipment delivery and maintenance.
* Monitor and improve processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
* Assist in the development of pricing strategies and rental agreements.
* Conduct regular performance reviews of hire desk staff and provide training and development opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Play a key role in managing and resolving any operational challenges that may arise.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a hire desk controller or similar role within the construction or plant hire industry.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency in using hire management software and Microsoft Office applications.
* A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
* Knowledge of construction equipment and industry regulations is a plus.
* A valid driver\'s license may be required.
