Head of Risk & Compliance
Location: Hybrid / Remote (final stage interviews in Dublin)

VANRATH is working exclusively with a high-growth player in the financial services sector to hire a Head of Risk & Compliance. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior compliance professional to step into a pivotal leadership role at a fast-scaling firm that values flexibility, work-life balance, and career advancement.
The position is primarily remote with occasional office attendance, and the company offers the option of a 4-day working week for the right candidate.
The Role
In this leadership role, you'll guide the business through an evolving regulatory landscape, embedding a strong risk-aware culture across operations. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring the company maintains best-in-class standards across governance, compliance, and risk.
This is a permanent role, suited to someone with hands-on EMI licence application experience and a strong grasp of FCA regulatory expectations.
Key Duties
* Provide guidance across departments on legal and regulatory obligations, ensuring best practices are consistently applied
* Monitor and evaluate operational risk, developing appropriate controls to reduce exposure
* Keep abreast of changing legislation and regulatory shifts, distilling relevant updates into actionable insights
* Support compliance with FCA regulations, particularly relating to licensing, reporting, and ongoing supervision
* Lead internal assessments on compliance performance, including audits and policy reviews
* Ensure timely and accurate submission of required filings and notifications
* Influence compliance strategy by contributing to new policy development and procedural frameworks
* Provide risk input and oversight on key strategic initiatives and business projects
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 5 years experience in a risk or compliance leadership role within the UK financial services or payments industry
* Hands on experience with EMI licensing procedures and proven engagement with FCA regulatory frameworks
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, often cross-border environment
* Solid working knowledge of the UK's financial regulatory system
