Role Overview As a Traffic & Highway Engineering Apprentice, you’ll assist our engineers and designers on a wide range of traffic and transport projects. You’ll learn how to develop, design, and deliver engineering solutions that support active travel, public transport, and safer road networks. You’ll work as part of multidisciplinary teams and gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software. Over time, you’ll take on more responsibility as your skills and knowledge develop. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of design drawings, plans, and supporting documents using CAD and design software. Support the delivery of highways, traffic engineering and active travel schemes, from concept through to detailed design. Help collect, analyse, and interpret traffic and transport data. Contribute to highways design, signage layouts, and streets design Participate in site visits to gather information and observe existing conditions. Assist in preparing technical reports and presentation materials. Maintain project records and support general project administration.
