Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a highly successful 11-18 comprehensive school located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Rushcliffe has been judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and, in 2021, was reaccredited as a World Class School for the second time. The successful applicant will join our pastoral support team as an Assistant Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to support one of our five heads of year, working alongside four other assistant heads of year and our attendance officer in our Pupil Support Unit. The role requires collaboration with staff across the school.

The successful applicant will communicate well and build excellent relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents to provide the best support for our young people. The role is wide and varied, with opportunity to be creative and innovative in identifying and providing ways to support their year group.

Responsibilities

* Support one of the five heads of year (teachers) and work alongside four other assistant heads of year and the attendance officer in the Pupil Support Unit.
* Collaborate with staff across the school to provide welfare and pastoral support for pupils.
* Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents to build strong relationships and provide the best support for students.
* Identify and deliver creative and innovative ways to support the year group’s needs.


Qualifications and qualities

* Positive, committed and empathetic individual with good relationship-building skills.
* Ability to communicate well and collaborate with staff, pupils and families.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training.
