A well-established secondary school in Staffordshire is seeking a diligent and proactive Finance Officer to join its central operations team from January 2026.
The Role
You'll support the school's finance function through accurate record-keeping, processing payments and assisting with budgeting and reporting. You'll work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure financial compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing purchase orders, invoices and payments
* Monitoring departmental budgets and spending
* Reconciling accounts and preparing monthly reports
* Assisting with payroll and petty cash
* Supporting audits and financial returns as required
About You
* Experience in a finance or accounts role (school experience desirable)
* Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficiency with finance software (e.g. PS Financials, Sage, or SIMS FMS)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
