Operations Manager Location: Lancashire Industry: Metal Recycling Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Our client, a UK-leading independent metal recycling business, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of daily yard operations and lead a team of 10. This is a hands-on management role focused on operational flow, workforce coordination, safety, and smooth communication across the site. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing a team of 10 within a busy yard environment Acting as the central point of communication between the yard, transport team, management, and H&S Planning and coordinating material movement in and out of the yard Monitoring weekly throughput (currently 300–400 tonnes per week) Ensuring all prepared materials are accurately recorded Driving efficiencies, productivity, and safe working practices Maintaining high standards of environmental and health & safety compliance Supporting with FLT and grab operations when required Requirements: Previous experience working within a yard environment Proven experience managing or supervising a team Strong planning and communication skills Keen awareness of health & safety and the ability to ensure full compliance FLT or grab experience beneficial Package Details: Salary: £40,000-£50,000 depending on level of experience 22 days annual leave bank holidays Christmas shutdown Monday to Thursday: 08:00–17:00 / Friday: 08:00–15:30 Permanent, full-time role within a respected name in the industry.
