Civil Engineer – Aviation

A Little More About Your Role
Drawing upon extensive experience, WSP’s aviation experts plan, design and manage the construction of the airports of tomorrow, with a focus on resilience, sustainability and smart technologies. We are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to help deliver exciting UK and international engineering projects. The role will require a solid understanding of multi‑disciplinary project delivery and you will be part of a technical team based in the UK.
Responsibilities
* Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications for airfield engineering projects at airports in the UK and overseas.
* Identify and manage design risks, issues and Request for Information (RFIs).
* Ensure all deliverables and milestones are achieved to cost, quality and time targets.
* Champion excellent health and safety practice, including safety in design, site visit safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
* Support Project Managers by undertaking project progress monitoring and contributing to project controls such as change management, information management and document control.
* Respond professionally to client directions and maintain relationships with clients, peers and partners to support future business opportunities.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* A university degree in civil engineering, construction, design or a related discipline.
* Experience delivering civil engineering projects (aviation specific experience is a plus but not required).
* Knowledge of international airfield design standards such as ICAO, CAA, EASA and FAA is preferable.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other relevant engineering design software.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage pressure, prioritize and plan effectively.
