As a Modern Apprentice, you will contribute directly to the technical excellence of Dunoon Grammar School. Working under supervision, your focus will be on maintaining critical IT infrastructure, strengthening network and device security, and ensuring all technical resources are fully functional for learning and teaching. This is an invaluable opportunity to rapidly develop professional skills while playing an essential part in delivering a modern, safe, and innovative educational experience for our pupils and staff.\nThis is a two-year, fixed-term position for a Modern Apprentice who will pursue qualifications in IT while gaining valuable on-the-job training. All duties will be carried out under the guidance, support, and mentoring from experienced technical staff and teachers. \n\n Working directly with experienced staff, you will: \nContribute to the smooth, daily operation and setup of computer laboratories and learning spaces.\nAssist with the setup and maintenance of computers and other technical equipment.\nSupport the inventory, tracking, and organisation of technical resources and supplies within the school departments.\nProvide foundational technical assistance for IT equipment, interactive displays, and other digital learning tools used in classrooms. A Qualification at National 5 level or equivalent and good numeracy skills is desirable but not essential.\nExperience of using a range of technology such as PCs, iPads and Chromebooks and an understanding of computer and network security best practices is required.
