Working Hours
Normal hours of work are 42 hours per week, on a 24/7 shift pattern, Monday to Sunday. The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary to perform the role satisfactorily.
Responsibilities
Main Purpose of Job
To carry out installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of equipment used within the manufacturing industry. Support the operations team to achieve targets and maintain health & safety standards. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company policies while optimizing plant performance.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
* Assist in developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance activities
* Perform operational tasks in compliance with legislation and company procedures
* Diagnose faults, repair, and maintain equipment in a steelwork/heavy engineering environment
* Be conversant in wiring and installation of general machinery, including temperature control and lighting
* Plan and schedule planned and unplanned maintenance work
* Liaise with client departments
* Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
* Monitor maintenance costs
* Improve production facilities

Skills

* Experience with FLT, OHC, Confined Space, Working at Height, MEWP
* Knowledge of SHIRES or equivalent electronic maintenance systems

Experience
* Experience in manufacturing environment
* Ability to follow instructions and processes
* Understanding of Health & Safety principles
* Apprentice-trained electrician
* Electrical engineering experience in production/foundry environment
* Proficient with computerized maintenance systems
* Fault finding and problem solving on electrical circuits and 3-phase power
* Self-motivated, able to work independently
* Work on Panama shift system may be required
Qualifications
* Ideally qualified to HNC level or equivalent
* Completed recognized Apprenticeship
* GCSEs – A-C including English and Maths
