POST TITLE: Cleaner
RESPONSIBLE TO: Cleaning Supervisor
POST OBJECTIVE:
Under the direction of the Cleaning Manager, provide and maintain the School buildings to a high standard of cleanliness.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Dust, wash down, clean and mop areas/classrooms, offices, toilets and other areas of school as directed by the Cleaning Manager.
* Operate powered maintenance equipment e.g. buffer, vacuum cleaner etc.
* Cleaning staff must be prepared to work in any area of the school as directed by the Cleaning Manager.
* Ensure equipment provided is properly maintained in good condition, reporting any problems to the Cleaning Manager.
* Notify the Cleaning Manager when replacements stock/equipment required.
* Be prepared to undertake in-depth cleaning during some of the school holidays. Normal working hours in the school holidays are usually worked over 2/3 days, but as agreed with the Cleaning Manager.
* Observe all normal security measures currently operating within the School.
* Ensure that the Health & Safety at Work Act, as defined by the School, is observed and report any accident or complaint.
* Comply with relevant legislation and School documentation and understand and comply with the School's Policy Document.
* It is a condition of employment that all staff attend Health and Safety training on a regular basis.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall cleaning function, in any areas of the school, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility for the job.
Hours:
3.45 pm – 7.00 pm (no break) - Monday to Friday term time plus some school holidays.
Working Weeks:
You will be required for work the following as agreed with the Cleaning Manager: -
· 36 weeks' term time
· 7 weeks during school summer holiday (Hours usually spread over 3 days per week)
· 1 week during Easter holiday (Hours usually spread over 3 days)
· 1 day during October half term
Any other tasks that may be requested by the Head, Director of Operation or Cleaning Manager.
