We are seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive School Business Manager (SBM) to join a busy and well-established primary school in Wembley, starting as soon as possible. This is a senior administrative role, offering the opportunity to oversee the operational, financial, and administrative functions of the school. The SBM is a critical member of the senior leadership team, supporting the Headteacher in strategic planning, financial management, and school operations. As the SBM, you will be responsible for managing the school’s finances, HR, premises, and administrative systems. You will ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contribute to the strategic development of the school. Key Responsibilities Oversee the school’s budget, financial planning, and reporting Manage HR functions, including recruitment, contracts, and staff records Monitor and maintain school premises, health, safety, and compliance Lead administrative and office systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy Support the Headteacher in strategic planning and decision-making Manage contracts and relationships with external suppliers and service providers Ensure safeguarding, data protection, and compliance with statutory requirements Prepare reports and presentations for governors and senior leadership Coordinate school events, meetings, and communications as required The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have proven experience as a School Business Manager or in senior school administration Be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Have strong financial management and HR knowledge Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems Be professional, approachable, and able to manage multiple priorities Show a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Wembley, with excellent transport links and a diverse local community.
