We are seeking a talented highly skilled Director-level consultant to join our team and support us to expand our impact in the Private Equity (PE) sector. You will be working closely with Alysian leaders, PE Operating Partners, and the CIOs/IT Leadership teams at portfolio companies to execute transformative IT-enabled value creation strategies.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are hiring a Director of IT Cost Out to lead mission-critical corporate financial analysis and cost reduction initiatives across our portfolio of Private Equity clients and their global portfolio companies. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical understanding, data-driven analysis, and program execution discipline - paired with hands-on experience, a structured approach and commercial instincts to challenge the status quo to deliver measurable EBITDA/CASH impact.
You will lead high-impact cost reduction programs across IT infrastructure, software, services, and operations. Your mandate: deliver monetary value through forensic spend analysis, structural spend optimization, vendor optimization, roadmap preparation and smart, aggressive execution including supplier negotiations. You’ll also play a pivotal role in building the cost-out playbook to create a repeatable standard process, templates, and digital tools to scale efforts across companies.
This is a Director-level role for a high-judgment operator who thrives in fast-paced, value-driven environments.
The ideal candidate:
* A highly experienced IT cost-out leader (Director level), ideally combining IT architecture/delivery expertise with a strong focus on cost optimisation and value creation.
* Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and EBITDA impact across IT domains — infrastructure, cloud, applications, software licensing, managed services, telecom, and security.
* Skilled at forensic spend analysis, benchmarking, vendor negotiations, and contract reviews, with strong financial literacy (ROI, business cases, P&L impact).
* Able to design and execute end-to-end cost-out programs quickly — from diagnostics and planning to delivery, tracking, and reporting.
* Comfortable working with PE-backed portfolio companies, understanding investor expectations, value creation plans, and fast execution timelines.
* Strong stakeholder management, partnering with CIOs, CFOs, procurement, and operating partners to align efforts and maintain accountability.
* Capable of building repeatable tools, playbooks, and frameworks to scale IT cost reduction across multiple companies.
* Analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to challenge assumptions and create innovative solutions to optimize spend.
* Highly adaptable and execution-oriented — thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where decisions must be made quickly with incomplete data.
