About The Role
Community Health Development Officer
£30818 - £31742 per annum pro rata 22 Hours per week
24 months contract, Witney (Agile working available)
Are you passionate about community wellbeing and reducing health inequalities?
West Oxfordshire District Council is seeking a dedicated Community Health Development Officer with a strong interest in health and community work to ensure the actions of the Witney Central Community Insight Profile are delivered. The role will work with community groups, residents and stakeholders to help reduce the health inequalities residents face. Some of your other responsibilities may include:
* Coordinate and monitor grant-funded projects linked to the Community Insight Profile
* Build strong relationships with local organisations, residents, and internal partners
* Lead outreach and engagement to connect individuals with health and wellbeing services
* Evaluate project success, learn from outcomes, and shape future health initiatives
You will need
* To be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing and the ability to deliver presentations
* The ability to build customer relationships and engage with a diverse range of people around sometimes complex issues
* A proven track record of working with disadvantaged communities and experience of building confidence and skills in local people and groups to make positive change happen for themselves
* Knowledge of the common health related issues affecting communities and an understanding of the barriers people may experience to access health and wellbeing services
* Experience of maintaining accurate and up to date records, planning, delivering, and evaluating projects, activities, and events
* Experience in successful partnership working and collaboration with residents and the voluntary sector
Special Conditions
* You will be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service
* There may be a requirement to work at other locations to meet the needs of the business.
* Full UK Driving Licence and the ability to travel/access to a vehicle for work purposes.
