Job summary

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to join our friendly and progressive Imaging Department. This is an excellent opportunity for final-year students who are due to complete their training this summer.

The successful candidate will work across a range of imaging environments, including Clinical Imaging, Theatres, Wards, and the Emergency Department, contributing to a high-quality, patient-centred radiographic service. You will be supported by an experienced team committed to professional development, clinical excellence, and collaborative working.

3rd-year student Radiographers due to qualify this summer are strongly encouraged to apply.

Main duties of the job

Perform a wide range of clinical imaging examinations in accordance with departmental protocols, including work within Clinical Imaging, Theatres, Wards, and Accident & Emergency.

Justify radiographic referrals within scope of practice, applying Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) guidelines and the Clinical Imaging Protocol Manual.

Ensure safe and effective use of ionising radiation, complying with IRR17, IR(ME)R24, and the Trust's Radiation Safety Policy.

Contribute to the provision of a 24-hour, 7-day radiographic service, including participation in the on-call rota.

Rotate across other hospital sites within the Imaging Directorate to support service needs and maintain a flexible, responsive workforce.
