3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
* The Chair will lead the Learning and Thematic Review Group, a subgroup of the Safeguarding Children Partnership, ensuring it meets its statutory and strategic responsibilities by coordinating and overseeing case reviews and thematic learning, monitoring the implementation and impact of agreed actions and training events, and embedding learning across partner organizations to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and adults, while ensuring the group operates effectively in line with its Terms of Reference, statutory requirements, and best practice guidance, and secures the positive engagement of all member organizations.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Lead and facilitate effective meetings of the Learning and Thematic Review Group in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
* Oversee the planning, commissioning, and quality assurance of case reviews (including statutory and non-statutory reviews).
* Promote and coordinate thematic learning from local, regional, and national safeguarding reviews.
* Ensure monitoring of the implementation and impact of action plans, recommendations, and training/learning events.
* Support a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement across all partner agencies.
Essential Experience Required
* Extensive experience in safeguarding children and/or adults, preferably in a senior leadership role.
* Proven track record of chairing or leading multi-agency meetings or strategic groups.
* Experience of commissioning, managing, or contributing to safeguarding case reviews.
Essential Qualification Required
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification in social work, health, education, policing, or another relevant safeguarding-related field.
* Relevant professional registration (e.g., Social Work England, NMC, HCPC) where applicable.

* Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child) is required for the role.
