About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Email Marketing Executive to join the Marketing & Communications team at Southern Hospice Group. Reporting to the Digital Manager, you'll be part of the Digital team, working alongside the Content & PR team and Campaigns & Marketing team.You will be joining at an exciting time for the organisation. Following the recent merger of St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House with Martlets Hospice, and the appointment of a new CEO for the group, you will play a vital role in the Marketing & Communications team, managing a series of email journeys across a variety of stakeholder groups including supporters, volunteers and healthcare professionals.You'll oversee the schedule and delivery of all email marketing activity for the hospices, adopting a data and insight-driven approach, as well as using storytelling abilities to develop and maintain engaging and effective email programmes.The ideal candidate will be innovative and captivate our subscribers, raising awareness of what we do and building an audience of warm supporters who go on to take action through donating, volunteering or getting involved. You'll have excellent written English skills as well as a strong grasp of regulatory requirements such as data protection and accessibility.You will be responsible for the integration of our email service provider and database, ensuring transfer of data is efficient, seamless and compliant.You'll be able to demonstrate proven experience in email marketing, ideally at a non-profit, the ability to interpret and monitor data to deliver reports and a keen eye for design with experience in developing content and graphics for email. You'll also need to be an excellent copywriter and proofreader.Essential criteriaProven experience in website management, ideally in a non-profit environment.Experience developing and delivering coherent and tailored email programmes, making use of dynamic content and automation to streamline processes as necessary.Experience of analysing and interpreting email performance data, to deliver email reporting as needed.Editorial experience: adept in writing, editing and proofing copy for web, adapting copy to suit the audience and tone required.Experience of interpreting and monitoring data using tools such as Google Analytics and producing reportsExcellent written English skills.Familiarity with popular email marketing and CRM tools such as Dotdigital, Donorflex, Raiser's Edge.An understanding of email best practice, web accessibility and email automation, with a natural curiosity and commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments.The ability to write creative and compelling email content, tailored to the audience and designed to inform, engage and inspire support.The ability to consistently demonstrate the organisational values.The ability to deal with sensitive issues with empathy and resilienceThis list is not exhaustive.
