At Lithia UK, growth is powered by people - and due to our ongoing growth and expansion, we're looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Record to Report team at our Head Office. You'll be working physically from Head Office for three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home for two days per week.
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in how we deliver accurate, insightful, and timely financial information that drives the success of the business.
This isn't just about managing numbers - it's about being a trusted partner to stakeholders, ensuring our financial reporting reflects the true performance of the business, and making sure the integrity of our accounts is second to none. You'll be leading and mentoring a team of Management Accountants, guiding them through day‑to‑day activities, while also rolling up your sleeves to tackle complex reconciliations, audits, and process improvements yourself.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and support the Management Accountants in their day‑to‑day activities, ensuring deadlines are met and high‑quality outputs are delivered
* Take responsibility for the preparation and timely submission of monthly accounts, payrolls, manufacturer composites, and ad‑hoc financial reports
* Ensure balance sheets are fully reconciled, investigated, and reviewed monthly, with actions tracked and followed up across the R2R and wider finance teams
* Lead regular reviews of warranty, bonus debt, floorstock, manufacturer reconciliations, GRNI, and vehicle creditors, resolving issues in collaboration with teams across the SSC and sites
* Maintain compliance with SOX requirements, ensuring risks are identified, monitored, and mitigated effectively
* Own the monthly Journal Log process, ensuring supporting evidence and approvals are in place
* Provide accurate and insightful financial advice to budget holders and operational stakeholders, turning complex data into clear, practical guidance
* Proactively drive process improvements, strengthen controls, and support both internal and external audit requirements
* Mentor, coach, and review the performance of Management Accountants, helping to build team capability and foster continuous development
* Champion collaboration across process towers, ensuring strong cross‑functional working and consistency in financial control
Key Qualifications
* Membership of a professional accounting body (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or strong experience in a management accounting role
* A strong background in Shared Service Centre or high‑volume accounting environments, particularly within management reporting
* Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely reporting while maintaining integrity and attention to detail
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain financial performance in a way that informs and influences decision‑making
* Experience managing or mentoring teams, with the ability to motivate, support, and get the best out of others
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the confidence to work with ERP systems and reporting technologies
* A proactive mindset, high integrity, and the resilience to deliver results even under pressure
