The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams at London North-West University Healthcare NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to deliver high quality rehabilitation to their patients. We are looking for an experienced, caring person to work within our existing therapy team providing a high standard of care as part of the inpatient Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy service on our Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Older Persons Short Stay Unit (OPSSU).
As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will provide clinical assessment and treatments under the supervision of qualified staff, be responsible for assisting in triaging, prioritisation, and new patient assessments, review of equipment and care needs, delivery of rehabilitation programmes and discharge planning for your patients. You will need to become familiar with referral processes for community and other inpatient facilities.
The post holder will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team in an acute in-patient ward at Northwick Park Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience in a similar role is essential, whilst area specific training will be provided. Excellent inter-personal skills are also essential as you will be required to liaise with clinicians, patients / carers and GPs, as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ level III or Health and Social care related degree
* Evidence of continued professional development within the field of therapy
Experience
* Working within a variety of therapy or healthcare related services
* Experience working in physiotherapy
* To have NHS experience
* Experience of discharge planning
* Experience of working on wards
Skills
* Knowledge on therapy related patient assessments and exercise based programs
* Knowledge of how to assess a patient mobility
* Ability to organise and prioritise
* To be computer literate, with a range of applications
* Read JD and PS and acknowledged trust values, duties and role
