Location: Hybrid / Oxford Due to significant business growth, organically and through acquisitions, we are looking for a Trainee Accounts Assistant, with an initial focus on treasury. As the applicant progresses through their qualification, compliance tasks will become more readily available. The successful applicant will have/be: A positive and strong ‘can do’ attitude Ambitious and looking to progress within finance Attention to detail Team player Treasury Office bank account reconciliations and ensuring the balances are sufficient Foreign currency account reconciliations Client account reconciliations Petty cash reconciliations Daily checking of company bank balances and ensuring sufficient funds available Credit card portal management Setting up client account payments Banking of cash and cheques received Provide ad hoc support and holiday cover to the Accounts Assistant with the following tasks: Setting up of weekly payment runs Setting up ad hoc payments Verifying supplier bank details Trading bank account reconciliations Compliance Preparation of various VAT returns for review by the Financial Accountant Complete CIS return submissions Complete ONS and other government and regulator reporting Training will be provided and further compliance responsibilities will become available as the applicant progresses through their qualification. Essential Good academic results to GCSE and preferably A-Level An appetite to progress and study towards an accounting qualification (AAT, with pathway to chartership through ACA/ACCA/CIMA) A good working knowledge of Excel Desirable Knowledge of Sage 200 and other relevant ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite What's in it for you?
