Job Description 3-month contract role with a local authority Summary This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, designed to lead and manage the compliance and assurance function across the Council’s corporate and commercial estate portfolio. The position ensures that all buildings are safe, legally compliant, and strategically managed, safeguarding the organization against breaches of statutory and regulatory duties. The role is crucial in identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks appropriately.
Responsibilities Manage the compliance and assurance function, fostering a culture of proactive risk management and technical excellence. Lead a team of professional technical compliance and assurance officers. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards in areas such as gas, water, fire, electrics, mechanical, asbestos, and radon.
Develop and manage compliance and assurance programs using the Council’s CAFM and related platforms. Produce professional reports and assurance updates for executive management, Members of Parliament, elected members, and boards. Maintain a comprehensive risk register for building safety and compliance, developing robust mitigation plans.
