Job Title: School Welfare Assistant
Position Type: Part-time (11:15 am - 1.15pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Chorley

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a School Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises. The School Welfare Assistant will play a crucial role in providing assistance, guidance, and supervision to students during this time.

Responsibilities:

* Supervise and monitor students during lunch breaks to ensure their safety and well-being.
* Provide support and assistance to students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
* Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting respectful behaviour and resolving conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
* Collaborate with school staff and teachers to address any behavioural or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
* Implement school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
* Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
* Assist in organising and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.

Qualifications:

* Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
* Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
* First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.
