Position Overview
Senior Data Scientist (ID 16975)
We are looking for a senior data‑science professional who can own high‑impact projects from concept through deployment and monitoring. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, technical depth and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business outcomes.
The Team
The Data Science team sits at the centre of smarter decision‑making across the business, partnering with operations, technology and commercial teams to solve complex challenges and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data‑science projects, from problem definition and modelling to production implementation and monitoring.
* Analyse complex, multi‑source datasets to answer strategic business questions and uncover improvement opportunities.
* Develop, validate and deploy predictive, simulation and optimisation models to support business performance.
* Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a product‑led environment to support operational and technology transformation initiatives.
* Mentor junior data scientists, providing coaching, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
* Contribute to best‑practice development and strengthen data‑science capability across the organisation.
* Stay up to date with emerging tools, technologies and methodologies, evaluating opportunities for business application.
Qualifications
* Degree or MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
* Significant commercial experience in data‑science roles with demonstrable progression.
* Strong technical knowledge in programming, machine learning, data preparation, visualisation and predictive analytics.
* Experience with optimisation, simulation or other advanced analytical techniques.
* Delivered data‑science solutions within operational, logistics, manufacturing or similarly complex business environments.
* Proven ability to independently manage projects, prioritise competing demands and deliver results in fast‑paced environments.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, confident presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
* Experience working alongside Product Owners, Software Engineers and cross‑functional teams.
* Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to solving business problems.
* Passion for mentoring, collaboration and building analytical capability within teams.
