Kitchen Manager – Independent Restaurant & Bar
Location: Sheffield City Centre
Salary: £35,000 starting salary + benefits
We're looking for an experienced, passionate and organised Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen at our busy independent restaurant and bar in the heart of Sheffield.
Open from 8am – 9pm, 7 days a week, we serve food all day – from vibrant breakfasts and brunches through to relaxed bistro-style dining in the evening. Quality, consistency and great service sit at the core of everything we do, and we need a strong kitchen leader to help drive that forward.
The Role
As Kitchen Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, heading up a small, talented team of two to three chefs. You'll be supported by experienced senior management while having the autonomy to put your own stamp on the operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing and motivating the kitchen team
* Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
* Menu input and development alongside senior management
* Stock control, ordering and supplier management
* Food safety, hygiene and compliance
* Staff training and development
* Ensuring smooth, efficient service across breakfast, brunch and evening menus
* Managing GP margins and kitchen costs
* Creating a positive, structured and professional kitchen environment
About You
We're looking for someone who predominantly has previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or a strong enthusiastic Sous Chef ready to step up and;
* Thrives in a fresh-food, high-volume environment
* Is organised, calm under pressure and a natural leader
* Has strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen management systems
* Enjoys developing people and building a great team culture
* Takes pride in producing consistently excellent food
Experience in all-day dining, brunch or bistro-style operations would be a real advantage.
What We Offer
* £35,000 starting salary
* 30 days holiday per year
* Free gym membership at an exclusive city centre location
* Structured support from senior management
* A great work-life balance
* Opportunity to shape menus and influence the business
* A friendly, independent working environment where your ideas matter
If you're a motivated kitchen professional looking for your next step with a successful, respected and independent organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
