Rate of Pay: £16.06 - £21.40 per hour
Summary:
The Public Realm Operative (PRO) plays a key frontline role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused Environmental Services across the borough. The position supports a range of operational services including refuse collection, recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance and cemetery services.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver high quality environmental services including waste collection, recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance.
* Work individually or as part of a team to complete allocated daily schedules.
* Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and act as a positive ambassador for the Council.
* Advise and encourage the public in respect of environmental objectives.
* Resolve day-to-day issues sensitively and creatively in a frontline capacity.
* Work flexibly with other rounds or crews to manage minor disruptions and ensure service continuity.
Essentials:
* Minimum 6 months experience as a loader, sweeper or grounds maintenance operative.
* Ability to carry out repeated moderate to heavy lifting and sweeping activities.
* Strong customer care approach with pride in delivering quality work.
* Ability to provide verbal and written reports.
* Willingness and ability to use computer terminals (including handheld devices) and mobile phones.

* You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
* You should have right to work in U.K
* This role requires an Enhanced DBS
