Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a rolling programme of restaurant refurbishment projects for a well-known national hospitality brand. The business delivers approximately 12-20 full refurbishments per year, alongside smaller repair and maintenance works.
Each project is bespoke, involving multiple designers and fast-moving programmes, making this an ideal role for a commercially astute PM who thrives in complex, live environments.
The company operates under an Employee Ownership Trust, offering long-term stability and annual performance-based bonuses.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend project presentations with the client's project managers and designers to fully understand scope, constraints, and expectations
* Plan and coordinate the annual programme of works, managing frequent date changes and shifting priorities
* Price projects from drawings only, including value engineering where budgets are exceeded
* Procure materials and manage suppliers nationwide, balancing cost, quality, and lead times
* Appoint, manage, and coordinate subcontractors, including negotiation and scheduling
* Produce detailed construction programmes and full Health & Safety documentatio
* All projects are independently audited and scored for H&S compliance
* Resource labour effectively, with a focus on building and developing a new workforce as part of a succession plan
* Deliver projects from start to completion, proactively resolving design and site challenges
* Maintain a solutions-focused approach when dealing with demanding designers and stakeholders
* Produce final accounts, manage variations, sign off subcontractor accounts, and control material costs
* Build and maintain strong client relationships-performance is judged on the success of the most recent project
* Operate calmly under pressure, resolving issues quickly in live trading environments
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience managing fit-out or refurbishment projects within hospitality
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to price from drawings
* Confident managing multiple stakeholders, including designers and client-side teams
* Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety compliance in construction
* Comfortable working nationwide and managing multiple live projects
