we are looking for a Category Manager to join the team based at our T3 Head Office in Solihull.
About the Role
As the Category Manager, you will report into the Senior Procurement Manager and be responsible for managing and controlling all local spend in the category cluster of circa £50 million. The role also involves developing and influencing best practice strategies to deliver value and cost savings for Tarmac.
Your responsibilities as a Category Manager will include (not exhaustive):
1. Managing strategic relationships with key country suppliers to drive value aligned with Tarmac’s objectives
2. Engaging and influencing stakeholders, including Excom, CRH Category Cluster teams, and local cross-functional teams to deliver sourcing initiatives
3. Being recognized as the expert in category knowledge within Tarmac
4. Maximizing contract value through compliance, proactive engagement, and responsiveness to stakeholders
5. Driving procurement KPI performance through contract management
6. Creating a culture of continuous improvement with tangible results
7. Driving category cluster synergies across the UK and Ireland
