We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Service Technician to join our team at Thames Water. This is a customer-facing role where you will resolve network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to customer supply.
Responsibilities
1. Operate the mains network, control burst mains, and ensure mains are isolated for planned work, emergency repairs, and maintenance.
2. Take ownership of customer issues, respond to queries and complaints, and resolve issues.
3. Ensure water quality compliance during repairs.
4. Act as a local network expert for isolation and rezoning, providing information for risk assessments and sharing network risk information and safety issues.
5. Investigate the clean water network to resolve issues like high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries, and loss of supply.
6. Work in compliance with company procedures, including health & safety and streetworks legislation.
Location and Working Pattern
Base Location: Godalming - Guildford - GU7 1UP, covering the Thames Valley area during shifts.
Working Pattern: 38 hours, including 1 in 8 late shifts and 1 in 8 standby rota.
Requirements
* A clean UK driving license and willingness to drive between jobs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Customer service experience in a dynamic environment.
* Full UK driving license.
* Experience in plumbing or water mains/leakage preferred but full training provided.
* NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / GCSE or equivalent desirable.
* IT skills for communication via portable devices.
* Excellent customer service, time management, and a positive attitude.
