JOB DESCRIPTION
POST TITLE: Lecturer - Plumbing
LOCATION: Newbury, Berkshire
HOURS: 37 hours per week
CONTRACT: Full Time, Permanent
SALARY: £33,656 - £39,034 per annum (plus potential £3,000 market premium)
JOB PURPOSE:
To deliver high-quality teaching and training across full-time, adult and apprenticeship Plumbing programmes, ensuring learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed in the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver engaging and effective teaching across 16-19, adult and apprenticeship programmes
Plan and deliver lessons covering:
Hot and cold water systems
Central heating systems
Sanitation and drainage
Health and safety
Renewable technologies
Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement
Support learners to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment
Contribute to curriculum development to ensure content remains industry relevant
Support students with varying abilities and learning needs
Participate in team meetings, CPD and college activitiesPERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Domestic Heating
Relevant industry experience in Plumbing
Good communication and organisational skills
Willingness to work towards a teaching qualificationDesirable:
Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent)
Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications
Experience delivering in Further Education or Apprenticeships
