We are working on an exciting opportunity for a part-time Systems Accountant to join an international company specializing in ethical travel and volunteer programmes for young adults wishing to visit Asia, South America, and Africa. This role is suitable for someone looking to step away from the norm and work for a vibrant, progressive company that offers a fun, high-energy working environment.
In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for aligning reporting and process improvements across global operations. You will also assist with the production of budgets, forecasts, and various reports for external stakeholders. Ideally, you will be fully qualified (ACA/CIMA or ACCA), although applications from part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
This role may suit a Management Accountant with an aptitude for complex reporting.
This position is a minimum of 22.5 hours per week, with additional hours available. Hybrid working is also available. We will consider applications from candidates seeking full-time hours.
Job Role and Responsibilities
As a Systems Accountant, you will join their friendly, established team and work in a fast-paced environment with significant international interaction. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing technical support, helping finance teams resolve system issues and technical problems.
2. Identifying ways to automate and improve financial processes for efficiency.
3. Collaborating with IT and finance teams to implement new systems, upgrades, and tools.
4. Training finance staff on software and reporting tools.
5. Creating clear financial reports to support decision-making.
6. Ensuring processes adhere to accounting principles and internal controls.
7. Assisting with month-end reporting for multiple entities, including variance analysis for the Finance Director.
8. Working with MDs across entities to explain budgets and update forecasts.
Skills and Experience Needed
* Part or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Experience with Power BI, ODBC Links, data extraction, and analysis is advantageous.
* Proactive approach and confident communication skills.
* Experience in a multi-currency and multi-entity environment is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong IT systems skills (Xero, Access Dimension, FileMaker are advantageous).
* Advanced Excel skills for supporting complex reporting.
Salary: £36k-44k pro-rata depending on experience.
