The Opportunity:
The Credit Control function forms part of the firm's Global Working Capital team, with
operations based in Australia and the United Kingdom. The team is responsible for managing the credit control function across a selection of the firm's practice groups and strategic client accounts.
The role is focused on facilitating the timely collection of all amounts due and payable inrespect of the firm's legal services, with a view to reducing outstanding debt levels, minimising debt ageing, and mitigating the risk of potential losses.
Credit Control operates collaboratively across the business, working closely with Partners, legal teams, clients, and finance teams to manage and coordinate a seamless bill-to-pay process across the firm's client portfolio.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with Partners, Practice Executives, Finance Managers, and Business Managers across the firm to support the credit control function
2. Participate in scheduled debtor review meetings with Partners and Practice Executives to assess the nature and status of outstanding receivables, agree appropriate collection strategies, and escalate matters of concern in a timely manner.
3. Conduct detailed analysis of the debtor's ledger to identify collection priorities, emerging risks, and aged balances requiring intervention
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities within Elite 3E, ensuring adherence to established best practice and departmental standards
This is a full-time permanent role, based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
5. Previous experience working in a similar Credit / Collections role
6. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) including a confident telephone manner, tactful and diplomatic when under pressure
7. Ability to liaise at all levels and build strong relationships with both internal and external clients
8. Knowledge of Debt Recovery procedures
9. Some knowledge of insolvency procedures advantageous
10. Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel & Outlook
