Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum.


Job overview

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS.

We need a Project Support Officer to support the delivery of an organisational change programme. If you thrive on challenges, bring structure to complex projects and ensure governance through change, this role may suit you.

You will join a dynamic team committed to transformation and change, working across multiple functions to support a culture shift towards technology and automation.

Main duties of the job

* Interpret complex facts, analyse and produce reports and options for senior leaders and stakeholders.
* Visually illustrate the process and impact of change proposals, including sensitive areas.
* Demonstrate impact of proposed interventions.
* Lead highly complex analyses requiring accuracy, attention to detail and sustained concentration.
* Communicate performance and project matters accurately using various engagement tools to influence improvements and meet strategic aims.
* Address business improvement areas or specific business analysis needs, plan interdependent interventions, facilitate fact‑finding workshops, using persuasion, negotiation and training to support and develop solutions and recommendations that lead to transformation.
* Support and develop reporting of NHSCFA’s performance cycle using VERTO that contributes to strategic and financial targets.


Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* Establish deadlines and provide ongoing communication of progress, risks and solutions to programme leads.
* Provide reports and documentation suitable for managers and senior managers, including external organisations, containing sensitive or highly contentious information.
* Deliver appropriate training and development across the organisation relating to implementation solutions and process challenges.
* Train and support project officers to meet strategic aims and objectives.
* Report via the project management system VERTO and governance arrangements.
* Contribute to developing others and fostering a community to challenge inefficient processes or practices.
* Work independently to develop options for implementing policy changes and proposing national changes.
* Manage and support project officers to achieve stakeholder requirements.


Person specification

* Significant experience in project management or business analysis, applying logical thinking and advanced business analysis tools in a complex multi‑stakeholder environment.
* Experience challenging highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, using advanced analysis tools to influence change management and achieve strategic aims.
* Assess impact of change on business systems and processes, formulate options, assess feasibility, and present recommendations.
* Degree or significant demonstrable relevant experience in project and/or stakeholder environments.
* Knowledge of performance reporting, risk, and experience developing monitoring tools or frameworks.
* Practical knowledge of business tools that support performance or analytical functions for business improvement.
* Knowledge of day‑to‑day operation and updating key objectives and metrics within a national project environment.
* Experience analysing relevant data and presenting findings, using Verto, and supporting projects or programmes to achieve business improvement.

All new entrants to the NHS will be appointed on the minimum of the pay scale in line with Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

Employment information

Work in Coventry, Newcastle or London – flexible, hybrid or home‑based. London area work attracts High‑Cost Area Supplement.
