Vision for Education are currently seeking a full time Teaching Assistant for an SEN school based in Christchurch. This is for a full time, temporary to permanent position starting ASAP. You MUST have experience within an education setting to be considered, preferably with SEN/SEMH children. You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who find learning and communicating a challenge in both the classroom and during intervention sessions. Full time. Salary - £17’000 - £19’000 Key Responsibilities: Work with and support pupils who require additional support. Help pupils to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with their learning, as well as emotional well-being. Support pupils to access tasks and activities that they find challenging. Provide one to one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs. Assist the Teacher in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials. Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment. In conjunction with teacher, liaise with parents and pupil progress. We are looking for someone who: Has extensive SEN experience. Has experience with SEMH students, is knowledgeable and has experience in supporting children with complex needs. Is confident to work with students with social, emotional and mental health and challenging behaviour. Is enthusiastic and dedicated, with a passion for working with pupils who require additional support with their education. Has experience in engaging with students who demonstrate behaviour and communication needs. Has a strong background in English and Maths.
