What does the role involve?
Your role, as a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, is to take the mechanical and electrical services role in the delivery of projects from inception to completion. Working collaboratively with the client, design team, colleagues and stakeholders, the role involves monitoring and reporting of costs and risk throughout all stages of the project. Benefit from the support of an experienced team whilst aiding the development of Assistant Quantity Surveyors. Work on a hybrid basis from our sociable Bristol office.
Responsibilities
* Estimating and cost planning, with production of feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information through to detailed cost plans.
* Preparation of tender documentation packages.
* Attend site visits.
* Completion of contract documents.
* Involvement in Value Engineering exercises.
* Negotiation to final accounts.
* Update and monitor cost and revenue profiles, through resource management.
* Negotiations with contractors to establish budgets.
* Full contractual advice pre and post contract to other design team members and clients.
* Settlement of final account packages including negotiation of claims.
* Check the quality and completeness of professional fee proposals prior to submission against agreed norms, where appropriate recommending improvement to such norms.
* Maintain quality assurance standards and best practice procedures across all projects.
* Uphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impact.
* Carry out additional duties in line with the role as required.
Requirements
* Ideally Chartered accreditation with post‑qualification experience.
* Long‑standing relevant experience working within the construction industry in a similar discipline.
* Ability to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycle.
* Excellent experience‑based technical/project knowledge.
* Ability to manage fees and assist with fee bids.
* Generate new work through management of client relations.
* Excellent knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
