Set in the beautiful rural setting of Luckington (Village outside Chippenham) we are a small pre‑school taking 20 children per day aged 2 to 4 years. We offer wrap‑around care in the morning and afternoon for Luckington School.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Early Years – Essential
* Leadership and Management experience – Desirable (training available for the right candidate)
Responsibilities
* Work alongside the Manager, Deputy and staff team with a positive manner to uphold the ethos and values of the pre‑school.
* Take a lead role in supporting the pre‑school (Manager and Deputy) and in their absence, delivering high‑quality provision and care for young children and staff.
* Develop the planning and seasonal curriculum plans to ensure that the individual needs of the children are identified and met using the EYFS for guidance.
* Contribute to maintaining an attractive and welcoming environment, especially within the base room.
* Support your team in the smooth running of the pre‑school and help set up and tidy away daily activities.
* Be proactive in looking for opportunities to improve your room.
* Act as key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
* Keep an up‑to‑date and relevant record of key children’s development in the form of observations, development records, age refinements, etc.
* Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members ensuring the equality of access and opportunity is afforded to all.
* Advise the Manager of any concerns e.g., health, safeguarding and well‑being of children, parents/carers or the safety of equipment.
* Provide for children’s basic needs in terms of changing, washing and toilet training.
* Always supervise and support children.
* Be vigilant of health and safety issues, conducting risk assessments as necessary and reporting any issues to the pre‑school Manager.
* Work alongside parents of children with additional needs to provide full inclusion in the pre‑school.
* Follow the setting’s whistle‑blowing and safeguarding policy.
* Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
* Ensure all children are given equal opportunities in regards to religious persuasion, ethnic origins, gender, disabilities and cultural or linguistic backgrounds.
* Ensure children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.
* Support mealtimes within the setting and assist with preparation where necessary.
* Assist with domestic tasks within the pre‑school ensuring the equipment, toys and premises are kept clean and tidy.
* Attend staff meetings, supervisions and appraisals.
* Attend training courses as required and take responsibility for personal development.
* Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.
* Adhere to all the settings’ operational policies, procedures and risk assessments.
* Ensure the settings paperwork is completed accurately.
* Promote the setting to current parents/carers and potential customers.
* Work effectively as part of a team and undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the Manager or Senior staff.
* Model best practice, lead, guide and support pre‑school room staff.
* Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties.
