The Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapists to work with children and young people up to the age of 18 years old, with a substantial and long-term physical or mental impairment
Key Requirements
* Conducting high-quality occupational therapy assessments of need within the local authoritys statutory responsibility.
* Performing assessments in the home environment for children and young people with complex disabilities.
* Identifying difficulties and exploring solutions through advice, information, provision of equipment, minor/major adaptations, and liaising with professionals from health and education sectors.
* Collaborating with wider organisations such as Housing organisations and Community Equipment Services
* Maximise the quality of life and increase independence for the children and young people we support.
* Enhance safety by providing specialist equipment and adaptations, and supporting parents and carers in their roles.
* Moving and Handling - (offering low-level advice to complex moving and handling, including hoisting, sling assessments, in bed turning and slide sheet systems, single-handed care)
* Knowledge of neurodiverse conditions / behaviour management, safety equipment / recommendations
Skills & Experience
* To be fully qualified and registered with the HCPC
* Motivation and adaptability.
* The ability to work independently and autonomously as well as part of a team.
* Organisational skills to manage your own workload.
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with families, children, young people, and other professionals.
