Mechanical Project Engineer – Water Treatment (New Build)Location: Surrey & SloughRate: £450-475 per day (Temp) Employer: Tier 1 Contractor
We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to support major new‑build water treatment works across Surrey and Slough. This role is with a Tier 1 contractor delivering large‑scale clean water infrastructure projects.
Role Overview
1. Support mechanical engineering delivery on new‑build water treatment schemes
2. Assist with design reviews, technical submissions, and mechanicalpliance
3. Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and monitor installation quality
4. Oversee installation of pumps, pipework, valves, tanks, and mechanical process equipment
5. Ensure all works meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
6. Work closely with project managers, site teams, and client representatives
Requirements
7. Essential: Previous experience on new‑build water treatment works
8. Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or major utilities frameworks
9. Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (Degree/HNC/HND)
10. Strong understanding of mechanical systems used in water treatment environments
11. Goodmunication skills and ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team
Qualifications
12. Full UK driving licence.
13. CSCS/ECS Card
14. EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
15. SMSTS
16. First Aid at Work
17. City & Guilds Authorised Person Module
