This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional or rising talent to join our Scientific Services team, working with a large variety of smaller commercial accounts, and helping to promote South East Water (SEW) as a market leader in laboratory analysis. You'll be a vital part of a small, supportive team, focusing on managing existing customers and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and providing the first line of support and advice to our commercial clients.
This role is key to increasing our commercial income and involves working closely with our marketing and lab teams. You'll be helping with sales and marketing campaigns and using your market knowledge to assess opportunities and contribute to the strategic development of Scientific Services. Main responsibilities:
As a strong team player who can also work unsupervised, your core responsibilities will focus on ensuring our customers receive a top-quality support service:
Account Management: Maintaining and developing relationships with existing commercial customers.
Customer Service: Providing first-line support and advice, and ensuring all customer services are maintained.
Improvement and Development: Proactively identifying problems and suggesting solutions to department processes, and contributing to the development and implementation of new, customer-focused services.
Laboratory Communication: Communicating effectively with the Laboratory team to help prioritise workload and customer requirements.
Marketing and Strategy: Assisting with advertising campaigns, developing marketing material, and using market knowledge to assess opportunities and help develop the market strategy.
Compliance: Being responsible for the timely completion of internal/external failure reports, non-conformities, and notifications to customers. You will also need to achieve deadlines and SLAs with solid and sustained work outputs.What you'll need:
Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
At least two years' experience in Analytical Laboratory work or account management/customer service roles.
Up to A-Level qualification or equivalent.
A good scientific background.
Good numeracy, literacy, and computer skills, including being technically competent in the use of all IT support systems (LIMS, CSM, Portal, and Web).
Proven time management and communication skills. The ability to be a strong team player who can also work unsupervised and produce quality work to key deadlines.
