Costs Draftsman
Full Time, Permanent
£35,000-£45,000 DOE
MINIMUM 3-5 years experience
Office Based, Bootle
Responsibilities include:
1. To prepare bill of costs for detailed assessment
2. To prepare cost claims for submission to opposing solicitor and the Courts
3. To undertake negotiations
4. To prepare Statement of Costs for summary assessment
5. To prepare and costs budgets
6. To prepare Points of Dispute and Replies
7. To prepare applications for interim Costs Certificates and preparing hearing bundles for Detailed Assessment
8. To represent the Claimant at hearings for Assessment of costs or Costs budget hearings
9. To assist in drafting High Costs Case Plans for submission to the Court/Third Party Representatives etc.
10. To liaise and advise with fee earners and support staff in relation to any costs related query
11. Drafting estimates of costs to accompany Allocation Questionnaires and Pre Trial Checklists
12. Drafting statements of costs (N260s) for summary assessment
13. Conducting negotiations re costs issues
14. Draft Notices of Commencement to serve bills of costs on paying parties
15. Drafting points of dispute and replies to points of dispute
16. Attending detailed assessment hearings
17. Undertaking other duties reasonably required by partners or senior management
