We are pleased to be recruiting for a Band 8a OperationsManager to join our Addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (AACE) pathwaywithin Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD). This is a full-time role, fixedfor one year and can be based at any of our locality sites across Devon,including Barnstaple, Tiverton, Exeter, Dartington, or Torbay.

You will work alongside the Clinical and Medical Lead, NamedNurse for Children in Care and the Safeguarding Nurse to oversee theOperational delivery of a compassionate, trauma-informed and responsive servicesupporting children and young people affected by adversity. This is an excitingopportunity to take a leadership role in shaping an innovative, integratedpathway for children in care, CFHD safeguarding team, children supported bysocial care, and others who have experienced significant early life challenges.

You will be part of a strong and supportive network ofoperational managers across CFHD and will play a pivotal role in influencinghow we work with partners to deliver joined-up, needs-led care. The leadershipmodel at CFHD (clinical, operational and medical leads) ensures you aresupported in your leadership and able to drive service quality and developmenteffectively.


Main duties of the job

* Provide operational leadership to the AACE team, supporting multidisciplinary staff across Devon.
* Work collaboratively with the other leads within the pathway to ensure services are safe, effective, and high-quality.
* Lead on performance, staffing, workforce planning and day-to-day service delivery.
* Ensure children and families receive timely access to care, maintaining strong links with referrers, partners and the wider system.
* Use data to monitor service demand and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
* Supervise and support staff to deliver trauma-informed care aligned to the THRIVE framework.
* Contribute to ongoing service transformation, embedding co-production and integrated working.
* Work closely with social care, education and system partners to ensure holistic support for children facing adversity.

It has been specificallydesigned to respond to all elements of the commissioners strategy andspecification along with the vision and strategic direction of the STP. It builds on our strong relationships acrosseducation, health, social care and voluntary sector services in Devon, and,most importantly, it has been developed and refined in partnership withchildren, young people and their families/carers.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, management qualification or equivalent and experience.
* A professional qualification relevant to childrens healthcare (such as Social Work, Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Psychological Therapy Qualification, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy.)
* Active registration with an appropriate professional body we are looking for someone with active registration as a social worker at this time


Experience

* Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, clinicians, managers and leaders including using goal-based care and routine outcome measures in practice.
* Experience of Inter-agency working at a management level with successful track record of influencing and maintaining good working relationships
* Experience of delivering specialist clinical services for children with complex health conditions
* Experience of operational leadership
* Experience of supervising and managing others, leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams and developing positive supervisory relationships with a range of Health professionals
* Experience of integrating principles of human rights diversity and inclusion in clinical and leadership practice
* Experience of managing recruitment processes including staff appraisals, performance and sickness management, investigations, recruitment processes
* Experience of safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies as appropriate.
* Experience of using data to improve services
* Experience of initiating, organising and planning inter-agency meetings including those related to complex clinical matters
* Experience of managing complaints, incidents, risks and financial payments.
* Experience of budgetary responsibility and effective financial management
* Experience in leadership in planning and implementing service development and change within a clinical / social care setting.
* Management of service user participation and involvement in services and implementation of service change as a result of feedback.
* Experience of developing and implementing policies and strategies
* Experience of collaborative leadership and staff engagement
* Working effectively within the local and national political environment.


Knowledge, skills and abilities

* Ability to drive across Devon.
* To contribute to manager on-call rota, as required
* An Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this role
